Bob Bell Automotive 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament
On Monday, September 9th, supporters of There Goes My Hero, Bob Bell Automotive, and many other local businesses came together at Chartwell Golf & Country Club for an unforgettable day of golf to raise money in the fight against blood cancer. The 7th Annual Bob Bell Automotive Charity Golf Tournament raised over $106,000 to benefit There Goes My Hero, with more donations continuing to come in.
A special appearance by Taylor Stewart from Fox 45 Baltimore started the day off strong as interviewing three people who held our mission near to their hearts. First, Bird Bishop, daughter of Bob Bell, shared how her father, the founder of Bob Bell Automotive Group, lost his battle with blood cancer. Then, Mary Kaye DiUbaldo, Executive Director of TGMH, spoke about the organization’s mission and the life-saving programs they provide. Finally, Burton Daniel, a bone marrow donor, shared his personal story of saving a life and highlighted the importance of joining the registry.
After the inspiring interviews, golfers hit the course, ready to take on 18 holes—all for charity. The course was adorned with vibrant signage from our incredible sponsors, who came together to support a cause bigger than themselves.
As the day concluded, golfers gathered in to the ballroom for dinner, raffle prizes, and a heartfelt speech from There Goes My Hero co-founder Erik Sauer, who shared his moving story of battling blood cancer.
A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this event possible. Your generosity is changing lives, and together, we’re making a difference in the fight against blood cancer.
