Ruth’s Chris Sizzling Celebrity Golf Classic to support There Goes My Hero

TOWSON, MD (August 12, 2015) — Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Big Steaks Management are partnering with Baltimore-based nonprofit There Goes My Hero for the 18th Annual Sizzling Celebrity Golf Classic.

The event is on September 21st, 2015 at Woodholme Country Club with a reception at the Crystal Room with a cocktail reception, open bar, dinner, and a spectacular sports and entertainment auction. Previous celebrity guests include Cap Ripken Jr., Johnny Unitas, and Ed Reed.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to There Goes My Hero and fund their mission of providing hope and nourishment to leukemia patents and their families. Hero provides over 20,000 meals to patients and their family members in the Baltimore area each year; has conducted over 150 bone marrow registry drives and added almost 10,000 people to the national bone marrow donor registry; and supports local doctors and patient support networks in Maryland.

Chief Executive Officer Steve de Castro and the whole Big Steaks Management team have a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community. “[In previous years] We have been honored to have formed lasting friendships and relationships which have benefited those patients and families who are battling blood cancers and for this we are grateful,” de Castro said.

There Goes My Hero Managing Director Seth McDonnell says that the organization is excited about this new partnership: “It means we can feed more patients, get more people on the bone marrow donor registry, support more research, and provide more hope.”
