Tell us about yourself.

I am a nursing student at Towson University and will graduate in two weeks. In addition to my nursing studies, I love spending time with my two cats, Maui and Mando. I also enjoy volunteering and watching first responder shows such as The Good Doctor or 9-1-1.

When did you begin volunteering with There Goes My Hero?

My first experience volunteering with There Goes My Hero was at the Red Shoe Shuffle.

Why do you volunteer with There Goes My Hero?

I am passionate about helping others and making a positive difference in their lives. Giving back to the community is also important to me, and as a future nurse, it’s crucial to be aware of the available resources in our community. Volunteering with this organization gave me valuable experience and knowledge that will help me better serve my patients.

What was your favorite volunteering experience with There Goes My Hero?

I had an amazing experience volunteering with There Goes My Hero! I got the opportunity to speak to potential donors who wanted to join the registry, and it was truly inspiring to see their eagerness to learn about the process. It was heartening to see people of color stepping up and signing up for the registry, as they are often underrepresented. I enjoyed working alongside Andrea – she was a pleasure to work with!

What would you say to someone who is thinking about volunteering with There Goes My Hero?

Join the fight against blood cancer by volunteering with There Goes My Hero!! You’ll have the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who are also passionate about making a positive difference for others!
