4 Ways to Give Back This Holiday Season
With the holiday season just around the corner, There Goes My Hero welcomes the beginning of holiday giving. During the holidays, we show our family and friends how much they mean to us. But what can we do for those in need? Here are four easy ways to give back to Baltimore blood cancer patients and their families this holiday season.
Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is a global movement focused on giving and philanthropy. With the countdown to Giving Tuesday winding down on December 3rd, we encourage everyone to give to There Goes My Hero so we can continue to make a difference in the lives of blood cancer patients.
Your contribution will allow us to kick off our patient service program at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center’s Harry J. Duffey Patient and Family Services Program. Launching in January 2020, this effort will allow us to provide meals, transportation, parking, and other resources to Baltimore-area blood cancer patients and their families throughout treatment. We understand the holiday season is all about gifts, so we made giving easy, with Amazon Smile. Host A DipJar
Thanks to the generous efforts of our board members, There Goes My Hero is the proud owner of two DipJars. DipJars offer a secure and quick way to collect credit and debit card donations. The DipJars are pre-programmed to a specific dollar amount – just “dip” your card to donate. The charge will appear on your bank statement listed under “DPJ There Goes My Hero.”
Interested companies can host a DipJar in their offices anywhere from a day to a week to a month at a time. DipJars offer a great way to support the cause with little to no effort – just plug it in and let the DipJar do the work! Who can’t spare a little counter space for such a cute gadget?!
Facebook Giving
Facebook is a great tool for connecting with distant friends and family this time of year, but it is also great for something else: fundraising. The holiday season can be an extremely busy time, and you might not have enough time in your day to actively support us, but don’t let that deter you from giving.
