Our mission is to serve nourishing meals to Maryland’s blood cancer patients and their families, to strengthen the network of family supporter and caregivers, and to support cancer research. Please join us and become a Hero by donating your strength, your compassion, and your dollars to those who are fighting for survival—and fighting for their families—against cancer.
There Goes My Hero, Moveable Feast, and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins have partnered on a pilot program to support leukemia patients and their families as they undergo the lengthy treatments with nourishing meals, beginning in 2011. This collaborative effort will allow the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center staff to identify patients and family members who are in need of support during their treatments, while Moveable Feast, through the financial support of There Goes My Hero, will provide nutritional services to those patients.
Moveable Feast is a nutritional support program that prepares and delivers meals and groceries at no charge to people and their families throughout greater Baltimore and Maryland’s Eastern Shore who are in need and living with HIV/AIDS and other life-challenging conditions. This new pilot program is the first such program available to leukemia patients.
Beginning in 2011, the pilot program will be able to support 10 patients and/or family members with three meals per day for an entire month. However, There Goes My Hero needs your support to fund this life-changing program. Please consider making a donation today. Remember, a donation of $,1500 can feed 10 patients with three meals a day for an entire month!
